How appropriate that the day I write my first blogpost, my neighbors are getting their yard relandscaped. This pretty much sums up my feelings as I begin this experiment in blogging for Jesus. I am starting from scratch. Bare dirt.
Bare dirt that leads to a cosmological question. How did this world begin? As I consider the wonderful achievements of man, I see that even with our collective wisdom and knowledge, we have never created a living being. Even to fertilize an embryo outside the womb, we have to have the egg and sperm which is created by no man, only harvested and used by us. We can only produce because we are using what is already there. Where did what is already there come from?
This leads to conversations about evolution (proposed in 1858) and intelligent design (proposed in the 1990s). For information:

Let me know what you think about these different approaches. Do they both use science to reach a conclusion? What makes the most sense to you? If you believe that evolution makes the most sense, does that mean you can’t believe in a Creator?
It is ok to get dirty. In fact, it is necessary to start with bare dirt and take as long as you need. If you care to comment about what you’ve concluded, I’d love to read it.
